Last week, we said that in the treasure hunt, the classmates found the most valuable treasure – happiness. For Pandora, though, it wouldn’t last. This weekend, Victor invited everyone to go on an outing. Where would they go?
Everyone discussed where they should go, and gave their own ideas. Some said they should go to the park, others to go hiking. Iris noticed that Pandora was silent, so she asked her, “Pandora, where do you want to go?” Pandora chuckled and said, “It doesn’t matter. I’ll go wherever anyone else goes.”
At this time, Junior had a thought. “A waterpark just opened next to the forest. Let’s go there!” Everyone was pleased with this idea, and cheered excitedly. Pandora didn’t seem too excited about this idea, but she didn’t say anything.
Everyone brought their swimsuits, floats, surfboards, and snorkeling gear. They were very excited to get to the waterpark. They wanted first to try the waterslide. Pandora stood at the side, smiling, and laughed.
After that, Iris called everyone together to surf, but Pandora shook her head and stood at the side. Victor dropped his surfboard, and everyone laughed.
In the end, with the help of the coach, they learned to dive underwater, and played noisily in the pool with their goggles. But Andrew noticed that Pandora wasn’t playing with everyone. Where did she go?
Everyone looked and looked for Pandora, and they finally found her in the ice cream parlor looking quite unhappy. Iris thought this was odd. She said, “Pandora, why aren’t you playing with us?” Pandora lowered her head and said quietly, “Actually I’m afraid of water. I’m scared to play.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything when we were deciding where to go?” asked Oxford. Pandora’s face went red. “I thought you guys would be annoyed. I didn’t want to spoil the excitement.”
Iris grabbed Pandora’s hand and said, “Sometimes it’s difficult to think of others’ needs, so you should be courageous and give a suggestion, make a decision for yourself. Otherwise how will we know what you’re thinking?” Pandora stared quietly, and then nodded.
The next day, Junior’s ‘Superman’ father returned to the Happy Forest. What will happen then? Let’s find out next week.
